Born in Brooklyn. Based in Berlin. At home on stage.
It started with a first gig at a youth centre in Brooklyn. At 17, Van Tell discovered his passion for the turntables. Performances at a US Army officers’ club followed, along with work as a radio DJ at New York’s 92KTU.
His father’s military career brought him to Berlin in 1989. He built his name at venues including Silver Wings, Friendship and Harnack House before making his way through the Berlin club scene. Berlin became home; New York stayed in his sound.
Eight “Pure Flavor” mix CDs took his music beyond the city. Mixshows on Jam FM, Kiss FM, Radio NRJ and Defjay, and 50 Cent’s European Tour, became milestones in his career.
Today, Van Tell plays venues including The Pearl and Matrix Club Berlin as well as Robinson Hotels & Resorts. From clubs to weddings and corporate events, he reads the room, crosses genres and brings his own energy to the microphone.
